to unify the surgical oncological community in matters related to research
and treatment of malignant disease
to improve knowledge and surgical oncological treatment in this country
to provide evidence based treatment standards
to organise nationwide trials and to participate in international trials
to further surgical oncology as a subspeciality within general surgery
